About Wendy E. John
Wendy serves as the Head of Global Diversity & Inclusion at Fidelity Investments, one of the largest multinational financial services firms in the world.
With assets under administration of $10.5 trillion, Fidelity’s mission is to inspire better futures and deliver better outcomes for the customers and businesses they serve.
At Fidelity, Wendy oversees the enterprise-wide strategy to make Fidelity a more diverse and inclusive workplace.
This includes tapping into the tapestry of backgrounds to develop and retain talent, creating a culture of inclusion, and showcasing Fidelity’s reputation and brand as an inclusive employer and service provider.
Ever since she was appointed to her position in 2020, Wendy has led the achievement of numerous milestones. This includes the release of Fidelity’s very first Diversity & Inclusion report, and the establishment of multiple affinity groups with more than 28,000 global members.
A 25-year Fidelity veteran, Wendy held a variety of key leadership positions across relationship management, client services, operations, workforce strategy, program management, implementation and benefits consulting.
Prior to her current role, Wendy served as the Chief Administrative Officer of Fidelity Charitable, where she was responsible for overall risk, compliance, external communications, legislative policy, government relations, and associate engagement.
Wendy began her career journey as an actuarial analyst at Towers Perrin before joining Fidelity as an actuarial technician in 1997.
A twin-island trailblazer born in Trinidad and Tobago, Wendy has long embraced the value of cultural differences and experiences she observed throughout her upbringing.
Also, Wendy’s commitment to lifelong learning and achieving educational milestones has always been a top priority.
She holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Science from Questrom School of Business at Boston University, and additional certifications from the Harvard Business School.
Like the grace and precision she learned in her youthful days as a practitioner of ballet — Wendy continues to exhibit the posture, finesse, and discipline during these “middle years” that is needed in today’s workplace in order to accelerate significant and sustainable change…
And to help create a world that honors, amplifies, and celebrates ALL dimensions of difference and diversity.
