This contributes to a broad span of attributes, skills, perspectives, and experiences that serve as assets to any organization.
As Gen X is now occupying more leadership positions in the world of work — this presents a great opportunity for this often forgotten, yet very powerful generation of leaders to facilitate meaningful mutual mentorship from the middle.
Here is a clip from a conversation Adrion Porter had with CNBC anchor and business journalist Jon Fortt on the podcast Gen X Amplified.
During the interview, Jon discussed how Gen X as leaders and bridge builders, is now uniquely positioned to effectively add value and rise up to the challenges as leaders in today’s age diverse and multigenerational workforce.
We are right now in position to be the glue between generations. The generation that’s going to say that everything is going to be okay. That’s going to kind of soldier on. That’s gonna kind of pull everybody together… Longer term, that’s going to need to be Gen X.
Also in a multigenerational workforce, there is a need for to understand the many perspectives, experiences, and performance opportunities across many age groups.
Gen-Xers specifically must learn to lean into empathetic leadership more often to become the effective bridge builders the world needs.
