Right now, we are standing at one of the most profound moments of transformation in history. Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the workplace. Careers are being redefined. Industries are being disrupted.
And in this new era—Gen X is uniquely positioned to lead.
That’s why I love this previous conversation I had with CNBC’s Jon Fortt on my Gen X Amplified podcast.
Here is a special clip from our chat when Jon perfectly articulated why Gen X, the so-called “forgotten generation,” must step into its power during times of change and disruption. Especially in today’s #multigenerational workforce.
As Jon mentioned:
We are right now in position to be the glue between generations. The generation that’s going to say that everything is going to be okay. That’s going to kind of soldier on. That’s gonna kind of pull everybody together… Longer term, that’s going to need to be Gen X.
Why does this matter?
Because in times of uncertainty, transformation, and AI-driven disruption, leadership is not about tenure—it’s about adaptability.
🔸 Gen X was built for this moment.
🔸 We’ve navigated disruption before—from the rise of the internet to the smartphone revolution, the social media era, and now, the dawn of AI.
🔸 We are the bridge between the wisdom of experience and the innovation of the future.
And now, in this new “Intelligence Age” revolution, we have the opportunity to be the guides, mentors, and catalysts for change.
But leadership today requires more than experience.
It requires:
- A TRANSFORMATION mindset—embracing AI and new technologies as amplifiers, not threats.
- Mutual MENTORSHIP—learning invaluable gems from younger generations while sharing our own irreplaceable wisdom.
- Mastery in REINVENTION—continuously evolving our skills, perspectives, and purpose.
This is our magical moment to bridge the gap across all generations…
And lead with empathy, curiosity, resilience, and MASTERY.
Let’s go!
