What are the qualities of a “powerful” leader?
We must remember that LEADERSHIP isn’t just reserved for people with fancy titles, or in hierarchical positions of power.
If you can influence and impact others—then you can be in a position of leadership.
During a conversation with BLACK ENTERPRISE, I touched on this topic by outlining what I consider to be the “Four Vs of Powerful Leadership”:
1️⃣ You must be VISIBLE. This simply means that you have to be intentional on how you “show up” and be “present” when necessary. If you are not available, then you cannot lead.
2️⃣ You must be VOCAL. As leaders, it is critical to communicate your ideas, thoughts, and messages of influence in various forms. Your unique voice and your story is powerful. Don’t underestimate it.
3️⃣ You must be VISIONARY. Powerful leaders are driven by purpose, and focused on taking people from here👉🏾to there. They look beyond the present—inspiring others to dream big, pursue greatness, and achieve their goals.
4️⃣ You must be VALUABLE. This is the “most important” element of powerful leadership. It’s all about having a diligent commitment to helping others within your community and circle of influence.
